Internal chats
The Chats tab of a client is your team’s internal discussion space for that client. Clients and parties can never see it; it is strictly between the dashboard users of your platform.
Direct messages and group chats
Section titled “Direct messages and group chats”You can chat one-on-one with any team member, or create a group chat with two or more participants, for example one group per client team. The chat list separates active chats from inactive chats and can be searched on chats and people.
Messages support:
- @mentions: type
@to mention a group member; mentions drive the notifications below. - Quoting: reply to a specific earlier message to keep context.
- Attachments: files shared in the conversation.
- Editing: messages can be edited afterwards.
Group chats can be renamed, have their participants changed, or be deleted from the chat header.
Staying on top of unread messages
Section titled “Staying on top of unread messages”Unread activity is visible in three places:
- A badge on the client page tab with the number of unread messages for that client.
- An indicator in the client list, so you can see which clients have unread chat activity.
- The chat overview panel in the top-right corner of the dashboard: all your unread messages across every client in one list, with a badge showing the total.
Email fallback for unread messages
Section titled “Email fallback for unread messages”If a direct message to you, or a group message that @mentions you, is still unread after a few minutes, the system emails you with a link to the client’s chat. Messages you have already read never trigger an email.
